Introduction -

Knorozov is named after the Russian translator Yuri Knorozov who, today, is accredited with breaking most of the Mayan language code. During his life, he was not welcomed in the language community due to his differing views from the accepted translation at the time. He is depicted usually with a frown and a cat. The perfect guise for a closet strategy game player. I created this game for him and people like him everywhere who are never appreciated until they are dead. Seemingly, we only need things when they are gone.

Donations are appreciated, as I have made this game free for you to play. Don't forget to send others here!

Object -

Knorozov is played on a Mayan Pyramid and the feild around it. There are 8 Grayish Control points, sometimes called torches, (Four outside and four inside center) that are contested and must be caontolled in the manner according to game. "Control" occurs on the beginning of the turn of the person who is controlling the points.

The orange only (outside center) are used for mountain play only. they have no effect in any other type of game.

In a five man game, you must Control two Control Points and hold them until it is your turn again. At the beginning of your turn, you win. Listed below are the types of games and points that you must control:

5 Man - 2 Points
4 Man - 3 Points
3 Man - 4 Points
2 Man - 5 Points

Initial Setup -

In 2,3 and 5 man play the player in the center of the board (on top of the Mayan Pyramid) must fight off all sides of attack. The peices are placed around him in the corners of the feild of play as seen in the diagrams.

Play of the game -

The player in the center of the board always goes first. In four man play, you must choose someone to go first. This is typically determined by a couple of flips of the coin, or someone may concede and let others go first.

Basic Movement and Capture -

There are three peices and each peice has one type of movement.

Jaguar Warrior (Atl Atl) -

The Jaguar Warrior moves one square in any direction and attacks two away. When he attacks, He moves to that space and the peice he captures is removed.

Eagle Warrior (Macohutl) -

Eagle Warriors moves two square in any direction and attacks one away. When he attacks, He moves to that space and the peice he captures is removed.

Swordsman (Tecpat) -
